atalaya blends a global range of club sounds, with emphasis on hard dance, ballroom beats and experimental latin rhythms. Ass-shaking, pulsing bass and queer sweat are to be expected during this selector’s euphoric club sets. atalaya's musical journey has been primarily influenced by the musical richness of their upbringing in the north west regions of spain and the uk, reminiscing a decade lived as an urban dancer, voguer and club lover. atalaya is the main producer and resident of nympha - an underground queer club night based at Soup, Manchester - together with Me Gusta’s Atiké. nympha platforms internationally established artists of the Abya Yala diaspora, alongside a diverse range of up and coming artists based in the UK, and with emphasis on supporting fem, trans and queer DJs. atalaya also co-ran Nothing To Celebrate, a queer celebration of indigenous cultures of Abya Yala, which took place at The DBA in October 2024, with a zine-making workshop and day-to-night celebration of people, food, music culture and togetherness.
